On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Andhra Pradesh, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects worth ₹13,430 crores. These initiatives span key sectors including industry, power transmission, roads, railways, defense manufacturing, and petroleum and natural gas.
During his visit, he will participate in the 'Super GST Super Savings' program in Kurnool. In a post on social media, Modi announced, 'I will be visiting Andhra Pradesh on October 16, where I will offer prayers at the Shri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam.'
Details of the Projects
Following his prayers, Modi will head to Kurnool, where he will inaugurate or lay the foundation for development projects exceeding ₹13,400 crores. These projects will focus on sectors such as electricity, railways, petroleum, and defense manufacturing.
According to the official schedule from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he will welcome Modi at Kurnool Airport in the morning. After arriving in Andhra Pradesh, Modi will first visit the Shri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Nandyal district for prayers and darshan.
Significant Infrastructure Developments
After his visit to Srisailam, Modi will tour the Shri Shivaji Spurthi Center and then proceed to Kurnool, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation for various development projects. A press release stated, 'Prime Minister Modi will dedicate several development projects worth approximately ₹13,430 crores to the nation, covering multiple key sectors.'
He will lay the foundation for the 'Transmission System Strengthening' project at the Kurnool-3 pooling station, which has an estimated cost of around ₹2,880 crores.
Economic Impact and Job Creation
Additionally, he will lay the foundation for the industrial areas in Orvakal, Kurnool, and Kopparthi, Kadapa, with a total investment exceeding ₹4,920 crores. These projects are expected to attract around ₹21,000 crores in investment and create approximately one lakh jobs, thereby boosting industrial development and global competitiveness in the Rayalaseema region.
Modi will also lay the foundation for a six-lane greenfield highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar, which will cost over ₹960 crores. This project aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the Visakhapatnam port city and enhance trade and employment opportunities.
Railway and Energy Projects
Moreover, he will inaugurate the four-lane expansion of the Pileru-Kalur road section, the widening from the Kadapa-Nellore border to C.S. Puram, and a four-lane rail overbridge between Gudivada and Nuzela. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation for railway projects exceeding ₹1,200 crores.
In the energy sector, he will inaugurate the Srikakulam-Angul natural gas pipeline by GAIL India Limited, which spans 124 kilometers in Andhra Pradesh and 298 kilometers in Odisha, constructed at a cost of approximately ₹1,730 crores.
Additional Initiatives
He will also inaugurate an LPG bottling plant in Chittoor with a capacity of 60,000 metric tons per year, costing around ₹200 crores. Additionally, Modi will inaugurate the 'Advanced Night Vision Products Factory' established by Bharat Electronics Limited in Nimmaluru, Krishna district, with an investment of approximately ₹360 crores.
Recently, during a visit to New Delhi, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu invited the Prime Minister to the 'Super GST Super Savings' program. The GST Council has recently approved significant reforms in the GST system, including tax reductions on commonly used items such as hair oil, cornflakes, and insurance plans.

Naidu has instructed officials to make arrangements for laying the foundation of the 'Drone City' during the Prime Minister's visit to Srisailam on October 16.
